This play-based open studio art class is designed especially for children ages 5–7 who learn best through exploration, imagination, and hands-on discovery. In this class, young artists are invited to create freely using a variety of art materials through open-ended prompts and playful invitations rather than step-by-step projects.
Children may choose how they want to work—drawing, painting, building, cutting, gluing, or experimenting with materials—while the instructor gently guides the experience, models techniques, and supports creative problem-solving. The focus is on the process of creating, not the final product, helping children build confidence, independence, and joy in artmaking.
Activities are thoughtfully designed to support fine motor development, early decision-making skills, and creative expression in a calm, welcoming studio environment. All materials are provided, and each session offers new materials or ideas so that every class feels fresh and exciting.
This class is a great fit for children who:
Enjoy imaginative, hands-on play
Like exploring art materials at their own pace
Benefit from gentle structure and guidance
Are building confidence as young creators
Expect joyful exploration, meaningful mess-making, and lots of proud “I made this!” moments 🎨
